July 24, 2018 — Former president and Pampanga representative was seen shouting from the plenary hall rostrum at the House of Representatives after her sudden oath-taking as House Speaker replacing the current speaker, Pantaleon Alvarez - "with no context, heads up, and even a proper audio set-up", even the mace went missing, too! Some said it was a coup. This happened moments before President Rodrigo Duterte delivered his #SONA2018 speech which was ultimately overshadowed by this crazy tug-o-war of power.
In 2011, Gloria Arroyo was arrested on charges of corruption and electoral fraud known as the #HelloGarci scandal where an alleged wiretapped conversation between her and Comelec Commissioner Virgilio Garcillano to rig the 2004 elections was made public. On June 21, 2005, Arroyo in a televised speech stated that she was just trying to protect her votes and the action was "a lapse in judgement" and she said, "I AM SORRY."
